Donald Trump still has not called Joe Biden to congratulate him on winning the 2020 election. And Jimmy Kimmel knows why: he’s ‘too busy’ calling Fox News.
“After 27 days of hiding, Trump called Fox News today to talk about his friend Rush Limbaugh who has died,” the late-night host said Wednesday night during his monologue. “And what a beautiful tribute it was.”
Kimmel aired the highlights of the first of two telephone “interviews” Trump gave Fox, ostensibly to praise the openly racist, misogynistic and homophobic right-wing radio mogul who died Wednesday after a long battle with lung cancer.
But instead of talking about Limbaugh’s life, the former president mostly focused on the election he lost almost four months ago, saying, “Rush thought we won, and so did I.”
“Anyway, who’s dead again?” Kimmel joked in response to this. “There’s no ‘I’ in praise, Don.”
He even acknowledged to Fox News hosts that they ‘did everything possible to discuss him’ about the late radio giant, ‘but somehow it still came to the polls that he still thinks he won .
“Well, I have to believe that listening to Trump is nonsense about himself what Rush would want,” Kimmel concluded before moving on to the dramatic demolition of Trump’s Atlantic City casino.
