The New York Jets announced Thursday that they have reached an agreement with San Francisco 49ers defense coordinator Robert Saleh to become their next head coach. Saleh will replace Adam Gase, who set a dismal 9-23 record in his two seasons at the helm. The Jets have won just two games in the 2020 season and possess the second overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft this coming April.

The Jets have nowhere to go but after a 2-14 season, and Saleh will definitely cut out his job for him. It will be interesting to see if Saleh chooses to continue developing the first round of 2018 for Sam Darnold as the team’s starting quarterback of the future.

Initial comments from Twitter, however, show that Jets fans are on board with the rental of Saleh’s team.
