Jessica Simpson looking back on her divorce from Nick Lachey in new entries for her memoirs, Open book.
In an excerpt shared by Entertainment tonight, the Dukes of Hazzard actress reveals how heartbreaking it was to hear about her ex-husband’s relationship with Vanessa Lachey, formerly Minnillo, just a few months after they walked their own path.
As Jessica writes in the diary entry, “So, Nick, are you already with someone else? It seems like you forgot the love you talked to me … I’m very sad. Alone in the dark, with no one not to call my own. “
In the memoir, which was released last February, Jessica set out how their four-year marriage was unraveled in public when they starred in the MTV series. Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica.
Although many assumed that the reality show was the cause of their divorce, Jessica said that was not the case. Last February, she explained, “I do not believe the program has torn our marriage apart.”

“Nick and I were very good in public and on camera. We were the best in our relationship when we sang together. I felt like we were at home in that place,” Jessica continued. “But as far as the reality show is concerned, we had just as much fun until the end – until we had marital problems.”
In addition, she revealed in the memoir that she had an emotional relationship with her Dukes of Hazzard co-star Johnny Knoxville, which she said was’ worse than ‘physical’.

It wasn’t long after the film premiered that she and Nick made their own way with the 98 degrees singer takes half of Jessica’s income in the divorce agreement.
Jessica does not necessarily regret the marriage, but she feels remorse for never signing a preview.
