Jerry Seinfeld, Awkwafina, Jadakiss and more pronounce new subway announcements from NYC

Jerry Seinfeld, Awkwafina and rapper Jadakiss are among the names who have recorded coronavirus safety announcements for the New York subways.

This comes after social media influencer Nicolas Heller (better known as New York Nico) announced last month that he was collaborating with the City Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) on new subway announcements, recorded by several famous New York residents , to manage.

The full list of contestants has now been released, featuring the names mentioned, such as Whoopi Goldberg, Michael Rapaport, Angie Martinez, Bob The Drag Queen and rappers Dave East, Young MA and Cam’ron. See the full list below.

It is unclear at this time whether the announcements, which include reminders to wear masks and practice social distance, will be limited to specific stations.

With a preview of the many different voices that New Yorkers will be able to hear in their subway shuttle, the MTA has posted a compilation video of the famous voices that can voice their voices.

“Hear these iconic New York voices (and more) now playing through the entire system,” the transportation corporation endorsed the video – check it out below.

Meanwhile, Jerry Seinfeld reflected on a previous interview with the late TV icon Larry King.

An excerpt from an interview in 2007 in which King Seinfeld asks about his self-titled series going off the air has resurfaced after King’s recent death at the age of 87.

King said on the video, “You gave it up, didn’t you? They did not cancel you. You canceled them,” before Seinfeld replied, “Do you not know? Do you think I was canceled? Do you know who I am? is?”

Jerry Seinfeld, who addressed the infamous interview on Twitter while paying tribute to King, wrote: ‘Has always loved Larry King and will miss him. The ‘canceled’ bit was just me having fun with his little mistake. Nothing more. Or less. #ripLarry โ€
