Alex Trebek’s family pays for it in advance.
The late “Jeopardy!” a press release from People magazine was donated to The Doe Fund by the show and his family.
According to their website, The Doe Fund, an organization that provides resources and opportunities to combat homelessness, incarceration and recurrence.
The donation included 15 suits, 58 dress shirts, 300 ties, 25 polo shirts, 14 sweaters, 15 belts, nine sports jackets, nine pairs of dress shoes, two parks and three pairs of dress pants.

“During his last day on the set, Alex praised the virtues of everyone opening their hands and hearts to those who are suffering,” said Mike Richards, executive producer of “Jeopardy!” “Donating his wardrobe to those who are rebuilding their lives is the perfect way to meet that last request.”

The release also stated that the donation was made by Trebek’s son Matthew, a longtime fan of The Doe Fund.
The clothes are given to the participants of the organization’s enrollment program which must be worn during job interviews.
“We are so grateful for the gift from the Trebek family to the men we serve. Our programs provide the skills for men to find work and become self-sufficient after devastating setbacks, but we always need professional clothing to add them “We know that Alex is looking down on us and smiling,” Harriet McDonald, president of Doe Fund, told Fox News in a statement.

In one of his last opening statements about the program before his death, Trebek urged the fans to give back to their communities.
“Hello, ladies and gentlemen, you will remember that about a month ago I asked everyone to thank you for a moment for all the blessings you enjoy in your lives,” he begins in a pre-recorded episode. which was broadcast in January. “Now today, a different kind of message.”
Trebek continues: “This is ‘the season of giving’. I know you want to be generous with your family, friends, loved ones, but today I want you to go a step further.”

He urged fans to ‘open their hands and hearts’ to those who are still suffering “because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and ‘people suffering without their own guilt’.

“We are trying to build a softer, friendlier society,” Trebek continued. “And if we all just work in a little bit, we’ll get there.”
The iconic game show host passed away on November 8 at the age of 80 after a years-long battle with cancer. Reps for the show and The Doe Fund did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.
