Jensen McRae Drops Single ‘Immune’ Phoebe Bridgers Cover

Yes, many people go viral on social media, but very few of them succeed in turning their viral post into a legitimate work of art. Jensen McRae is apparently not like most people. Earlier this month, the singer-songwriter went viral for a deeply accurate and dark hilarious tweet predicting a future Phoebe Bridgers song that will fall over our current vaccination situation in the year 2023. “In 2023, Phoebe Bridgers is going to release her third album, and the opening track will be about the hook in the car while they wait in line to be vaccinated in the dodger stadium, and that will make me cry,” McRae tweeted and obtained 75,000 preferences. To join a car in Dodger Stadium while being vaccinated? Very sad. Very horny. Many Phoebe Bridgers.

But she did not hang the towel after one funny tweet. McRae put her money on her mouth and wrote the first verse of the fake Phoebe Bridgers song and tweeted it in a video in which she sang it with the caption “this is my look of how I think it will sound.” The clip was so good and so spot on that it also went viral and caught the attention of me. Bridgers himself who simply tweeted: “oh my god.”

And now? McRae donated the whole damn song to the world. On Wednesday, the single ‘Immune’ dropped the full version of a 30-second track that started as a tweet. The song produced by Rahki begins with her viral verse and starts from there, soaring and dipping with McRae’s very talented songwriting skills and singing. “Immune” fits perfectly into the Phoebe Bridgers sad girl oeuvre, but stands on its own as a unique work of art. If you like “Immune” – and we trust you will too – check out McRae’s previously released singles “Wolves” and “White Boy”, which we’ve been playing repeatedly since McRae’s clip went viral. Watch the single “Immune” by Jensen McRae and get excited for her debut album which will be released later this year. If you like Phoebe Bridgers as much as you do, you probably want to pre-order it.
