Jennifer Lopez Recreated Love Do Not Cost Thing Video

Hope she didn’t have a hard time finding her belongings after that.

Jennifer Lopez’s 2001 album J.Lo is one of her best albums to date, period – and it’s just turned 20 on January 23rd.

The album is chock full of hits, including ‘I’m Real’ and the classic single ‘Love Don’t Cost a Thing’.

Funny thing from ‘I’m Real’: R&B singer Ashanti played a possible role in the creation of the song. Yes Rule recently explained that Ashanti sang on an early reference version of the track, and that some of her original singing was possibly mixed in the background of what was ultimately her and J.Lo’s hit. Ashanti, in turn, said she was ‘crazy’ about Irv Gotti, the executive actor, because she gave the song to J.Lo, but that she was also ‘happy’ at the same time because it was J.Lo.

Even J.Lo himself knows how iconic the song is – hence in an Instagram post where she celebrated J.Lo‘s 20th year of existence, she ended her caption with the hashtag “#MyLoveDontCostAThing.”

J.Lo specifically recreated the scenes on the beach where she throws away her belongings and most of her clothes. This time, she even threw her bracelet in the sand.

Hope she did not find it difficult afterwards.

And while she stopped repeating the end of the original video in which she took off her shirt while waking up in the sea, J.Lo ended her micro-update of the clip with a fake nod to the original end.

J.Lo want you to have fun too. She also tweeted “Can’t wait to see your versions” of what she calls the ‘#LoveDontCostAThingChallenge’.

The #LoveDontCostAThingChallenge BEGINS NOW !!!! I can not wait to see your versions. ✨😎✨

Uhh, I’m not sure if my most expensive possessions are in the sand right now, but this is financially the best move for me. You do, J.Lo.
