Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have announced that they are staying together.
After reports spread Friday that the couple had ended their four-year relationship, they issued a joint statement to NBC News on Saturday through their representative.
“All the reports are inaccurate. We are working on a few things.”
Earlier on Saturday, several sources close to the couple said: “They never officially broke up and talked about it, but are still together. They hit a rough spot that made them think about what they should do. They stick together, they work through things. ”
Lopez, 51, is currently filming a movie in the Dominican Republic while Rodriguez, 45, is in Miami.
“It’s hard to see each other especially with quarantine and Covid, but they stay together,” the sources said. “It’s important to them that they continue to be together.”
The famous couple have already postponed their wedding twice due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We talked about it for sure. I mean, at our age we were both married before. It’s like, are we going to get married? Do not we? What does that mean for us?” Lopez told Andy Cohen on SiriusXMs Radio Andy. “It was really sad because we had to get married in June and we planned it all. So we look down in March or April and see, ‘It might not happen’. Italy is the worst place in the world. And we going to get married in Italy. It was, yes, it was like, ‘OK, we had to cancel everything.’
The Puerto Rican singer and actress born in the Bronx added that they tried to regroup a few months ago, but it was still not the right time.
Lopez and Rodriguez have been engaged for two years.
