Jefferson County will also go to Level Blue on Friday, opening capacity limits to 100%

GOLDEN, Colo. With the state handing over COVID-19 authority to local governments this week, Jefferson County Public Health on Tuesday issued a public health order that will begin moving the province toward a full reopening, beginning Friday.

From Friday to May 15, the province will operate below the “Level Blue” capacity levels, and there will be no change in status during that 30-day period.

Level Blue provides for 100% capacity at restaurants (with social distance still enforced) and gyms and 50%, or 500 people, for indoor events. Last call for alcohol is 2am below Level Blue, and all grades in schools are personal.

As of May 16, Jefferson County plans to move to a new interface known as ‘Level Clear’, which has no COVID-19 restrictions. The one protocol that may still apply is a requirement for an indoor mask. The May 16 to August 15 phase would be an observation period in which Jefferson County monitors hospitalizations more than the case of cases and positivity.

“Over the past few weeks, we have been working very closely with other local public health leaders in the Denver metro area, which includes about 60% of the state’s population, as well as provincial leaders to determine how best to progress,” he said. Dawn Comstock, executive director of JCPH. ‘We are confident that this short, phased approach will enable our community to regain control of our recent increase in COVID-19 transmission, while striving to vaccinate as many people as possible and create a new boom. occurs driven by more infectious variants. . At the same time, our local businesses can better plan for the near future. ”

The Jefferson County plan is similar to a plan put in place by the Tri-County Department of Health, which covers the counties of Adams, Arapahoe and Douglas. These provinces will also move to Level Blue before moving to Level Clear in May.

Boulder County is also likely to move to Level Blue on Friday, if the cases here do not exceed 300 per 100,000 people and the positivity rate remains below 7.5%. Boulder’s current case is 150.4 per 100,000 people and the positivity rate is 5%.
