Jeff Bridges is making progress in his fight against lymphoma.

The Big Lebowski star (71) said in a statement on his website that a ‘new protocol’ he is undergoing in his health battle seems to be a success.

“I’m going for a CAT scan to see if my new protocol shrinks my tumor,” the Oscar winner said. “It seems to be working nicely. The thing has shrunk drastically. ‘

The Hollywood veteran, of films such as Crazy Heart, Starman, The Last Picture Show and True Grit, said he returned to his home “excited about the news”.

Bridges said his state of mind moved downward after learning of the deadly riots in the U.S. Capitol.

“I turn on the TV to find out what’s going on in the world, and … well … I do not have to tell you what’s going on,” Bridges said. “Seeing my country attack broke my heart.”

Bridges said introspection led to a well-known source of inspiration amid the deadly day in which extremists violated the U.S. Capitol in a protest against the 2020 election results.

“I had a question – what should an individual do in a situation like this?” Bridges said. “My mentor, Rozzell Sykes, came up to me. His mantra was Be Love. ‘

He shared several works by the late Sykes, an artist in Los Angeles who died in 1994, further on his page.

Bridges opened up on social media on October 19 about his cancer diagnosis.

“As the guy would say. New S ** T has come to light,” Bridges said, quoting a line from Lebowski. ‘I was diagnosed with lymphoma.

‘Although it’s a serious illness, I feel happy that I have an excellent team of doctors and that the prognosis is good. I will start the treatment and will keep you informed of my recovery. I am very grateful for the love and support of my family and friends. ‘

He added, “Thank you for your prayers and wishes … Love, Jeff.”

He later said he was grateful for the pleasure he received amid his prediction: “I want to thank you all for issuing this time, it feels good to get all the wishes and love!”
