In addition to launching a range of wireless headphones, a Dolby Atmos Virtual soundbar and a potentially leading Bluetooth speaker, JBL used its productive CES 2021 event, HARMAN EXPLORE, to unveil new hi-fi to celebrate its 75th year of existence this year. .
There are some L100 Classic series for fans of JBL and retro-style speakers to enjoy their eyes (and soon their ears) for one. Here we have the brand new JBL SA750 integrated amplifier, inspired by (and a fitting tribute to) the SA600 and SA660 models from the 1960s and ’70s.
The SA750 screams modern-retro with its milled aluminum facade and teak wood veneer panels – JBL undoubtedly calls its partnership with a pair of L100 Classic 75 a match made aesthetically and sonically. What’s located inside just seems to add to the appeal: it combines 120 watts per channel of Class G amplification with streaming smarts thanks to Google Chromecast, Apple Airplay 2 and UPnP support.
There is MQA and Roon Ready support on the front, and on the physical side of connectivity is a range of analog and digital inputs – two optical and coaxial pieces, six pairs of analog RCAs, and a few MC / MM phono, 3.5 mm and USB sockets. The spec sheet is 3.5mm and RCA amplifier headphone outputs, plus Dirac Live chamber calibration.
It’s definitely well equipped, so we can only hope that its performance also justifies the price of $ 3000 (AU $ 5000). The JBL SA750 is available from May.
