Jared Leto is a chameleon actor, but when he decided to record at Sony’s Spider verse, he, oddly enough, did not choose the real villain Chameleon from Spider-Man. In January 2022, the former Joker will play the lead role Morbius, which brings the web villain’s famous villain to life for the first time. And in a new interview with Variety, the actor says that the role was a big change for him. Instead of disappearing into the role, Morbius appears to be much like his real person. To be clear: Morbius is a vampire.
“It was kind of difficult for me somehow because I’m not used to playing roles that are a little bit closer to who I am, day in and day out,” Leto said. “Dr. Michael Morbius is a little closer to the way I speak and the way I act.”
O …
Michael Morbius, Ph.D. and MD, was introduced in 1971 The Amazing Spider-Man # 101. As most of his stories go, Morbius was born with a rare blood disease, and like many scientists in the Spider verse, his attempts to heal himself led to a small catastrophe. Experiments left him with vampiric powers, including superhuman strength, agility and improved healing, plus a lust for human blood. It is unclear whether Leto shares any of these powers with his new character.
The funny quote is reasonable for Leto, who is known for immersing himself completely and disappearing into a role. The actor underwent tremendous weight shifts to play John Lennon’s killer Mark David Chapman Chapter 27 and Rayon, an HIV-infected trans woman, in Dallas Buyers Club (for which he won an Oscar). He put on some freaky makeup effects Blade Runner 2049 and his new movie, this week’s The little things. And who can forget his turn as the Joker in Suicide Squad? ‘Going there’ means not only bringing the chaotic energy on the set, but also behind the scenes. Considering his filmography, a doctor who turns into a vampire is normal for Leto! Early fans for the film suggest that dr. Morbius looks, sounds and moves like the actor when he does not act with the method. Not a bad thing, once in a while.
“I was interested in this role because he’s going on this journey of dying after the cure of this disease and getting incredibly healthy, and then letting things change so that he becomes monstrous,” Leto said. ‘You start with a hope and a dream and an idea of something, and you all try to work as hard as possible in this given time to make it as good as possible. And I think this is the first time I’ve ever starred in a great movie like this in my entire career, so this was a new area. I generally hide in the shade. ‘
