Jared Leto recalls learning about the Covid-19 pandemic

“I was quite shocked. It was like ‘Rip Van Winkle’.”

Jared Leto will never forget the day he learned about the coronavirus pandemic. After having a silent 12-day meditation retreat, he realized that the world had changed forever.

“Just in that short time, when I came out, there was a shutdown, an emergency and the whole world changed,” he recalls Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show.

In the retreat, Leto explained that none of the participants gave their phones because it was against the rules.

“Of course there were no talks, no eye contact, no TV. And the teachers [made] a decision: ‘Let us not disturb the participants,’ ‘he said.

But as soon as he left the refuge and switched on his phone again, the Suicide Squad an actor felt a little shocked about the state of emergency the world is in.

“I drove all the way to be calm and keep the feeling going. I came back and was a little shocked. It was like Rip Van Winkle“he said.” It was like coming out to the zombie apocalypse. ”

To keep himself calm, Leto tried to remember what he had learned during the refuge. “[I] he had this wonderful tool for dealing with stress and things in life, “he explained.[But] I do not think anything can completely prepare it [of] us for what we all went through in the beginning. ‘
