Janet Jackson breaks silence following Justin Timberlake’s apology over Super Bowl’s ‘wardrobe malfunction’

Timberlake ripped off part of Jackson’s outfit in a planned stunt at the Super Bowl and exposed her barely hidden breast in the process, but criticism was largely spared amid the ongoing controversy that followed.

Meanwhile, Jackson, who described the incident as a “wardrobe function”, banned her songs from the radio and permanently ruined her career by the delivery.

A documentary about Spears, which aired in the US last week, also asked Timberlake to apologize for his treatment of the pop star following their breakup.

While Jackson did not refer to Timberlake’s apology in a video message posted to her social media on Saturday (February 13), she expressed her gratitude to her fans.

“I was alone just the other day and started crying,” she explained while wearing a face mask. ‘I wept because I was so grateful for all that God has blessed me with, all that He has given me, and I’m so thankful that he’s been in my life, and I’m so grateful that you’re all in my life. ”

Jackson also acknowledges the renewed success of her historic 1986 album Control, which currently appears at number one on the Apple Top 40 US pop album chart.

“I never, never in a million years thought that would happen,” Jackson continued. “I really appreciate you, and I love you so much. Thank you.”

In Timberlake’s apology, the former * NSYNC star said he knew he had ‘benefited from a system that endorsed misogyny and racism’, and that he had ‘failed’ Jackson as well as Spears.

“I care and respect these women, and I know I have failed,” Timberlake wrote.
