Christina Ricci’s estranged husband is seeking a restraining order against the actress, accusing her of excessive alcohol use and domestic violence.
Heerdegen’s request for a restraining order on domestic violence comes days after Ricci, 40, filed a restraining order against him, according to court documents obtained by Page Six on Friday. Her order was granted.
In his order, according to the Daily Mail, Heerdegen claims that she will get drunk in front of himself and their son Freddie. He claimed that she would have no idea what happened when she was finally sober and that at some point he had to go check out Freddie’s bottles while she was breastfeeding.
“This filing is nothing more than a transparent insulting attempt to silence my client,” Ricci’s attorney, Samantha Spector, told us in a statement. “It’s not going to work. Christina will not be intimidated by Mr Heerdegen and his deluge of misleading allegations – and she remains determined to protect her family.”
Ricci and Heerdegen untied the knot in 2013 and welcomed their son Freddie in 2014. The actress filed for divorce in July 2020 following a suspected domestic battery incident.
Ricci asked for primary legal and physical supervision over Freddie (6) as part of their divorce. She also asked the court not to allow Heerdegen visitation rights.
In her own documents filed against his request on Friday, Ricci told the court that she believes Heerdegen filed the order in retaliation for her order, which was filed earlier in the week and that it was unnecessary. At the time, she provided photos to the court of the injuries she allegedly sustained as a result of Heerdegen’s abuse, some of which she said took place in front of their son.
She also included an audio clip from June 25, 2020 of an alleged incident between the two, according to court documents: ‘James Christina can be heard terrorizing, spitting and screaming at her, admitting that he is following violence and taking her from room to room room follows, chases her and then violently assaults, before the recording suddenly ends with her crying that she is calling the police. Shockingly, this recording also captures that Christina is trying to lead the minor child – who is present – away from the increasing scene. ”
“It is expected that James Christina will be accused of physical abuse against him for defensive actions she took to evade his assaults on her,” the document reads. He can also try to portray Christina as acknowledging responsibility for their fights against others. The foregoing is to be expected in cases where serious domestic violence is not controlled in a household … in this case, however, there is no doubt that James is the primary attacker and perpetrator of domestic violence who should be held responsible for his heinous behavior.
Heerdegen earlier this week denied Ricci’s allegations of abuse to TMZ.
