The Eagles will not go to the postseason after Sunday, 37-17 against the Cowboys, they were the only NFC East team without a chance to win the division title with a losing record.

Defender Jalen Hurts and the offense started well in Dallas, but after halftime he scored no points. Hurts turned the ball over three times in the fourth quarter to ensure the Cowboys would finally stay alive for another week.

Hurts turned the ball over only once in his first two starts, and the rookie was determined to make the game a learning experience. He said he believes he and the team will ‘be better off in the future’.

“That failure teaches you a lesson and that pain is nothing more than to motivate you,” Hurts said via the team’s website. “That pain is going to keep motivating me and I will be better for it.”

Hurts gave the Eagles a lot of hope when Doug Pederson finally pulled the trigger to start him over Carson Wentz. Sunday’s game was a reminder that there is still a lot of uncertainty about what the future holds for Hurts and the rest of the Eagles.
