Jake Paul’s knockout was an embarrassment to Ben Askren

While Ben Askren seemed to have taken his knockout loss to Jake Paul by the neck, he did admit that any mockery would be fair.

“I probably deserve it,” Askren said. “Because I was knocked out by Jake Paul. It’s embarrassing. ”

Paul, the YouTube star, knocked out Askren in Atlanta on Saturday night in the first round of their pay-per-view boxing match. Askren, a two-time NCAA champion wrestler and former UFC fighter, said he feels he is fine, but the referee does not think he can continue.

Askren, 36, was guaranteed $ 500,000 for the fight.

“I’m not really giving that up,” Askren said of the loss. ‘There’s pizza waiting in my hotel room. I’m going to eat it. I’ll be flying home tomorrow and hanging out with my kids, and on Monday I’ll probably be at a wrestling practice. ‘
