Roma (CNN) – Italy is invoking European Union (EU) powers to block the export of 250,000 doses of vaccine against covid-19 in Australia to the Jews, in a dramatic escalation of a dispute between the EU and the pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca.
The spokesman for Prime Minister Mario Draghi, Paola Ansuini, confirmed the report to CNN, and agreed that Italy and the European Commission agreed to the action. This is the first time that these UE meds have been used for vacancies.

In the final of the year, there will be a public meeting and a meeting between the EU and AstraZeneca for the retreats in the vacancies, as the company informs the block that it will take tens of millions of doses of the agreement until the end of March.
The European Commission has recently adopted new media that will provide Member States with the power to restrict the export of vehicles against the covid-19 drive of the block, in determining situations. It is understood that the mechanism does not affect humanitarian aid to COVAX, the global initiative which as an objective distributes 2 million millions of vacancies to the poorest countries.
The evacuation in the block of 27 nations has continued unabated, trying to find some members who are more frustrated to visit external countries in search of help. Only 5.5% of the EU’s population, 447 million, received a first dose of the vaccine, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
The Jews, the Italian Ministry of External Relations, explained its decision to impede that AstraZeneca exports its vacancies, citing the company’s withdrawals from its summit in Italy and the European Union, and noting that Australia is not considered a nation « vulnerable »by the EU.
Following the declaration by the Ministry, Italy authorized the export by the company of “modest quantities of samples destined for scientific research activities”, to be alerted to the enrollment in question involving 250,700 doses.
The declaration quoted “the elevated number of vacancy doses subject to the application for authorization to export in comparison with the amount of summer doses in Italy and, in general, in the countries of the EU now”.
AstraZeneca declined to comment on the Italian decision.
The European Commission “does not oppose” Italy’s decision to impose a ban on the export of cars to Australia, a UN official at CNN Jueves.
The official participates extensively in the commercial processes within the Commission, but is not authorized to hold official meetings at any meeting or on commercial documents between the Commission and the Member States of the European Union.
Following the procedures of the EU, a company that exports goods from a Member State of the EU must notify the Member State. The Member State verifies the criteria for the export and makes a preliminary decision on whether to approve the export. European Commissioners have yet to approve a day to approve, modify or reverse the Member State’s decision. The Member State must follow the decision of the Commission.
The EU official told CNN that the EU member states would approve 174 vacancy permit applications during the period between January 30 and March 1, 2021.
«The exports refer to the following export destinations: Argentina, Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Hong Kong, Japan, Kuwait, Macao, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, “Oman, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Qatar, Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States and Uruguay”, said the official.
