ISIS bride ‘angry and crying’ after British nixes return to Britain

ISIS bride Shamima Begum was left “angry, upset and crying” after a court ruled she could not return to Britain to fight to regain her British citizenship.

The now 21-year-old is stuck in a detention camp in northern Syria after the British High Court unanimously rejected her request to return on Friday.

The decision to return her to Britain crushed her. “She is very angry. And she is very upset and crying. “She does not want to talk to us,” friends told Sky News.

Begum was 15 when she and two other London schoolgirls left Britain to join the caliphate. Her citizenship was revoked in 2019 on the grounds of national security. It is believed that the other two died in the fighting.

She lost three children born in the years that followed, the last one born in 2019 after marrying an ISIS fighter from the Netherlands. That year, she told Sky News that her first two children in a camp had died of illness.

Begum was spotted by ITV News on Friday after the decision walked through the camp, wearing sunglasses, leggings and a jacket, not the veil and clothes in which she had been seen.

She does not speak to the press on the advice of her lawyers, who expect to continue the appeal on her revocation of citizenship.
