At the time, she was ironic, or semi-ironic, but it did not take long before the sense of irony faded. After swapping her “pro-ana” (pro-anorexia) Tumblr sites for “social justice” sites full of “trans testimonials”, she and four of her best friends decided to change her pronouns and her life . She binds her breasts, exchanges her diet pills for testosterone jabs and waits to be happy. Unfortunately, she was not, and neither does anyone else. “They are all unfortunate,” she told Abigail Shrier.
