March 17th, the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran published its information on the issue, concluding that “the aircraft identified as a hostile host debited to the defender of the defensive system was located in the vicinity of Tehran.”. The information identifies four key cases of Iranian militaries, specifying a concrete framework or unit, including a 105 degree error in the alignment of a short-range defense system, a “defective communication” between the military and civilians the erroneous identification of the aircraft and the completion of the routine command procedures required for the launch of missiles. The detailed document states that an “operator” identified the aircraft as an “objective” and separated it from the aeronautics, and that the specifications of the aircraft from which a civilian aircraft were not located at the command center. At the moment, the supuestos are implied and have not been identified.

The Iranian Army’s Forces are being alerted to maximum alert this day and have carried out an attack on a military base in Iraq in the presence of Iranian troops, in retaliation for the operation against Iranian General Qasem Soleimaní, and Washington.

The incident provoked an increase in tensions between Tehran and the countries of origin of the passengers on the plane – Ukraine, Canada, Afghanistan, the United Kingdom and Sweden -, which initially targeted Iranian authorities and allowed them to take off.

The Iranian Governor has approved a compensation of USD 150,000 for each of the 176 victims: 82 Iranians, 63 Canadians, once Ukrainians (two passengers and three refugees), three dozen, four Afghans, three Germans and three Britons.
