iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max is once again reported to get 120Hz LTPO screens, with four models arriving in 2021

This is not the first time that Apple has reportedly used 120Hz LTPO screen technology on the more premium iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. A new report now talks about how Apple’s Korean display providers are expected to see growth in 2021, which could potentially lead to higher earnings as a result of a partnership with the iPhone giant.

Samsung and LG have said they should offer upgraded screen technology to Apple for the iPhone 13 series, but surprisingly, BOE is not mentioned

With four models expected to arrive in 2021, ETNews provides a summary of the display technology we should expect for each iPhone 13 version. Unfortunately, if you want to see on an iPhone what a faster screen is all about, you need to spend a little extra money in the future.

  • iPhone 13 mini – 5.4 inch 60Hz LTPS OLED
  • iPhone 13 – 6.1 inch 60Hz LTPS OLED
  • iPhone 13 Pro – 6.1 inch 120Hz LTPO OLED
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max – 6.7 inch 120Hz LTPO OLED

The report states that Apple may see an increase in the offer price, but it is not confirmed whether the company will absorb the cost or pass it on to customers in the form of increased prices. The advantage of LTPO technology on a smartphone is that it will dynamically vary between 1Hz and 120Hz, depending on the type of content displayed. This helps save battery life, which will be an extreme goal for Apple, as all iPhone 13 models are expected to include upgraded 5G modems.

As everyone knows, these modems are extreme batteries and probably one of the reasons why Apple chose to use a 120Hz panel on the iPhone 12 series, even though each model contains supported hardware. The report mentions that Samsung and LG will be responsible for providing these OLED screens, but it does not mention BOE anywhere. It was reported earlier that the Chinese display manufacturer began shipping OLED panels for the iPhone 12 family, while also having a dedicated production line for the iPhone 13 series in H1 2021.

One insider in the industry, who is also mentioned in the report, claims that there are many expectations of next year’s models as the iPhone sales are strong, which may not experience any delay in production. This shows that the iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max may arrive in September next year rather than in October. If there are any changes to Apple’s plan, we’ll update you accordingly.

Do you so far like next year’s iPhone 13 family, or do you believe that the cheaper models should also receive a 120Hz LTPO upgrade? Tell us in the comments.
