The Instituto Nacional de Vigilancia de Medicamentos en Alimentos (Invima), an agency that regulates the sector in Colombia, authorizes the emergency use of the vaccine of Pfizer / BioNTech against covid-19, of which the Gobierno has acquired 10 million doses , informed Iván Duque.
“He has given another very relevant step to advance in the evacuation program against covid-19. Today the Invima has given the authorization for the use of the Pfizer vaccine in Colombia”, said Duque during the television diary program “Prevention and action”, in the midst of the media that is in its infancy to alleviate the pandemic.
The mandate aggregates that this process is carried out “in record time”, then “in a very short period of time it is analyzed by the technical team more than 22,000 folios” while the solicitation is high for the pharmaceuticals for the use of their vaccine.
“This is a very important step and we will continue to advance with AstraZeneca, also with Jansen and with all the facilities within the Covax strategy”, Duque apostille.
On the 30th of December, the mandate informs that the Governor will close an agreement with the pharmaceutical company Janssen, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, to acquire several million vacancies against covid-19.
