The Uruguayan Society of Intensive Medicine (SUMI) projects that within two weeks, intensive care beds will be maintained if the coronavirus contagions in Uruguay are increased.

The institution estimates that a “linear behavior” of the numbers can be read in a “reliable prediction” that marks the “saturation” of the CTI.

In addition, it is ensured that there is a supply of goods, because “many units” of intensive care are taken before the complete occupation.

SUMI explains that 12 days ago, 11% of CTI beds were occupied by COVID patients. The recent trend is to put this figure at 22%. If the ascending curve follows, the 4th of April rises to 35%, a figure marked by experts as the beginning of saturation.

With regard to the total number of beds, it is detailed that it is at 64% and that on April 4 it will be 79%.

The report from this SUMI brand shows that there are 175 COVID patients in CTI beds. A total of 795 camas-operas hay 511 occupants.

El pasado lunes en En Perspectiva (Radiomundo), was interviewed by Cardiologist and Intensive Career Álvaro Niggemeyer, Assistant Professor of Cardiology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of the Republic. The detailed expert who can read at the saturation level, has a 35% occupancy rate with COVID patients.
