Something to look forward to: Intel plans to release their first Xe HPG gaming GPU chips this year, but we do not know when – it could be late in the year, or later this week when Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger takes the stage for his first submission. Either way, it’s something worth looking at.
Intel is raising the marketing machine for Xe HPG, their upcoming range of high-performance gaming GPUs. In a short clip posted on Twitter, they are bothering a scavenger hunt that will begin Friday two.
In the Intel teaser, an Xe LP (low power) chip is hit by a beam and upgraded to a Xe HPG chip. The latter is five times larger, which could be a pinch for their design: Intel’s current LP offering is 96 EU, while the HPG range is reported to reach around 512 EU, five times more and change. It’s usually a bit to draw such conclusions, but this video is full of clues.
About 17 seconds, the code “79.0731W” appears at the bottom right of the platform on which the chips rest. At the time of writing, the code is uninterrupted, but it is speculated that ‘thirty-one weeks’ may be a release date. Another four lines of code appear at the point of 22 seconds, at the bottom right of the slide. They have already been decoded. (If you want to decode it yourself, do not scroll any further.)

Thanks to duckofdeath for posting the solution. Each line is a binary number, and the four of them are an IP address: 35.160.237.208. This is the address for xehpg.intel.com.
Intel’s website says that the “Xe HPG Scavenger Hunt” will be launched on March 26 at 09:00 PST, and that a ‘secret code’ will be required. This could be the first code of the video, or it could be something to be announced next week. We will keep you informed – if you share the clues you discover.
