Intel Iris Xe GPUs on Rocket Lake Desktop CPUs Get the First Official Driver Support

Intel released the first official graphics driver for its Rocket Lake processors with the Iris Xe integrated GPUs. With the launch, the Rocket Lake series was the first desktop family to have the brand new graphic architecture Iris Xe (Xe-LP), but it took Intel a few days before the official driver support ended up for them.

Intel Iris Xe GPUs on Rocket Lake Desktop CPUs Get First Official Support for Graphics Drivers

Well, Intel has finally introduced the graphics drivers for the Iris Xe GPUs that appear on the Rocket Lake CPUs. The 27.20.100.9316 is 426 MB in size, but the most interesting is that the date on which it is listed is March 3, 2021. This indicates that the support for Intel Rocket Lake Desktop CPUs is new, but that the driver is not technically different from what is already available for Iris Xe GPUs. Intel simply added support for Rocket Lake processors to its existing driver suite and called it a day, and that makes sense, since all Iris Xe chips are essentially based on the same Xe-LP GPU architecture.
