Intel forgot to release graphics drivers for their 11th-gen Rocket Lake CPUs

What just happened? Somehow, Intel inexplicably did not publish the drivers for the integrated graphics of Rocket Lake before the launch of the processors last week. They have not yet provided an excuse, probably because there is not one: by all accounts, the integrated graphics version of Rocket Lake is a clone of old hardware and you do not need updated drivers – just certification.

Intel’s graphics drivers are usually available on their download site, but if you’re looking for the 11900K or its siblings, all you get is the Performance Maximizer utility. If you download the Intel Graphics Driver Installer, it is said that it could not match your hardware. It’s a little annoying when you pay more than $ 600 for a new processor.

Reviewers, including ourselves, provided pre-drivers before the embargo and those who tested the integrated graphics found no discrepancies. OEMs also had access to drivers. As far as we know, the integrated graphics in the Rocket Lake processors, the UHD 750 brand, are functionally identical to the integrated graphics in last year’s mobile Tiger Lake processors. Common sense dictates that managers do not need any significant rewriting.

Lisa Pearce, director of Intel’s graphical software engineering, says the drivers will be available to the public by Monday.

But luckily, if you brought a Rocket Lake processor and do not have a video card to pair with it, you do not have to wait until Monday to play CS: GO at 30 fps. Here is a solution:

Download the .zip file for the common Intel Graphics driver and install it manually using the Windows driver installation tool: Control Panel> Device Manager> Display Adapters> UHD 750> (right-click) Features> Driver> Update Driver> Browse My computer for driver software.
