In the long-forgotten time of 2019, Instagram announced the start of a test to hide like scores that users usually see on everyone’s posts. During the last year of the COVID pandemic, the test is still ongoing, but without much updating or expansion. Today, many Instagram users in the US have received the above notification saying that they will no longer see Like scores but without any official announcement.
Instagram told Engadget that today’s extension was a mistake, explained in a tweet that “We unintentionally added more people to the test today.” So if you got the message and changed it today, you can expect it to return to normal soon.
We tested a new experience to hide likes in Feed posts. We inadvertently added more people to the test today, which was a mistake – we fix this problem and restore such a score for the people as soon as possible.
