President Biden and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin are politicizing the military and planning to “purify” conservative or Trump-backed servants under the guise of eradicating “extremism,” Laura Ingraham said Thursday.
“The Ingraham Angle” host recalled comments Austin made during his confirmation hearing last month, in which he promised to “fight hard to eliminate sexual assault and free our ranks of racists and extremists.”
‘The Department of Defense’s job is to keep America safe [from] our enemies, but we can not do that if some of the enemies are within our own ranks, ”added Austin, a retired general who recently served on the board of defense company Raytheon.
On Wednesday, Austin announced that he would “stand still” for 60 days and ordered military leaders to have “talks with the men and women of power” in an effort to eradicate extremism in the ranks.

“One thing is for sure,” Ingraham responded. “If it is substantial and not symbolic, it will seriously damage our military readiness and morale. Our men and women in uniform have long been asked to sacrifice – several tours, many of them. Often it is ridiculous engagements, idiotic wars. .
“Now the Biden government is rewarding them by throwing them out as potential domestic terrorists? Time bombs are ticking off the white supremacy? You can always count on think tank generals whose salaries are funded by wealthy donors, to address the Democrats that way. “
“If Democrats were seriously concerned about eradicating extremism, they would look in the mirror,” Ingraham added. “How many crazy, contagious, inflammatory, slanderous hateful things have been said by their members in the last five years, or just the last month?”
The host concluded by a challenge to Republicans, such as the chair of the GOP Conference of the House, Liz Cheney, R-Wyo.

“This is your opportunity to show everyone that you will fight harder against the Democrats than against Donald Trump,” she said. ‘Refuse to allow a single US taxpayer dollar to fund this ideological and non-US purge of the US military, or expect many of us to strive for the sharp cut in military spending.
“Why should we fund an organization that the Democrats plan to use, not to protect us, but to keep us in check to protect themselves and their grip on power?”
