Want to see when you may are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine this year?
The Department of Health and Human Services in Michigan published an infographic this week showing a preliminary vaccination timeline for COVID-19.
The timeline is based on the January 6 announcement to extend vaccinations to people 65 and older, teachers, police officers and other priority groups.

The dates, broken down by month, are estimated by the state and are expected to change based on the vaccine supply.
The infographic was developed to make it easier for Michiganders to understand the priority groups and timelines for vaccinations associated with the groups, said Lynn Sutfin, a spokeswoman for the health department.

The infographic begins in December with health workers and long-term caregivers and staff eligible for vaccinations and runs until August and September, listing someone 16 years and older.
Other essential front-line workers and those aged 16 to 64 with a health condition that puts them at high risk for serious COVID-19 complications may receive a vaccine from May, according to the infographic.
Hospitals, health systems and local health departments receive vaccines weekly, but this is not enough to meet the huge demand. Pharmacies CVS and Walgreens provide vaccines to residents and staff in long-term care facilities through a federal pharmacy program.

The city of Detroit opened its first mass vaccination clinic in the TCF Center garage this week, by appointment only, and initially focused on the city’s elderly population (70 years and older) and a few other essential groups.
On Monday, those in the extended groups eligible, including those aged 65 and older and pre-K through high school staff, were vaccinated at drives in Oakland County, again by appointment only.
