The official summary of the series reads as follows:

In 2006, there were traces of improper access to secret presidential files in the White House network. U.S. Federal Agent Leon S. Kennedy is among the group invited to the White House to investigate this incident, but when the lights suddenly go off, Leon and the SWAT team are forced to take down a horde of mysterious zombies. Meanwhile, TerraSave staff member Claire Redfield gets an enigmatic image drawn by a youth in a country she visited while providing refugee support. Ghosted by this drawing, which is apparently a victim of viral infection, Claire begins her own investigation. The next morning, Claire visits the White House to request the construction of a welfare facility. There she has a chance to be with Leon again and uses the opportunity to show him the boy’s drawing. Leon seems to realize some sort of connection between the zombie outbreak in the White House and the strange drawing, but he tells Claire that there is no connection and departure. Over time, these two zombie outbreaks in distant lands lead to events that shake the nation to its core.

In addition, the streamer also announced the biggest cast for the series, with Nick Apostolides and Stephanie Panisello officially inducted, both known as fans as voice actors from 2019 Resident Evil 2 and will return to their roles of Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield from the hit title.

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness will be a horror action series based on the stories of the two popular franchise characters, Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield. By adding suspense to dynamic action scenes, Netflix says the series is a Resident Evil world unlike anything seen before.

The series is produced and supervised by Hiroyuki Kobayashi of Capcom, who is responsible for bringing numerous titles into the Resident Evil series exists. TMS Entertainment will produce the series, while Quebico, led by Kei Miyamoto, the producer of Resident Evil: Vendetta, will oversee the full 3DCG animation production.
