Indoor dining and hair care will soon reopen in SLO County

11 February 2021

If San Luis Obispo County still has low coronavirus positivity rates, several businesses could reopen or relax restrictions as the province moves from the press to the red level from next week, Dr. Penny Borenstein, SLO County’s public health officer, said.

In California’s red level, nail salons, cinemas and gyms can reopen. It also caters for indoor restaurants and hair care.

After two weeks in the red level, school districts can reopen K-12 schools.

Over the past two days, 101 people have tested positive for the coronavirus in SLO County, bringing the province’s total to 18,889 since the start of the pandemic. Of these, 205 died and 17,676 recovered.

There are 36 residents of the SLO province in the hospital receiving treatment for the virus, with nine in intensive care units.
