Reuters reports that heavy rains over several areas in Indonesia’s capital forced evacuation on Saturday.
The whole picture: The country’s meteorological agency has warned that conditions are expected to worsen as the heaviest rain of the season could fall in and around Jakarta next week, according to Reuters.
Officials said early Saturday that about 200 neighborhoods had been affected by the flooding.
According to Reuters, floodwaters in some areas reached almost 6 meters high.
The news agency noted that floods are coming because the country is still seeing a large number of cases of coronavirus.
