Following the news that Phoebe Waller-Bridge has landed the female lead in the next “Indiana Jones” movie, Lucasfilm has found Harrison Ford’s next co-star in Mads Mikkelsen, who is expected to join the next episode.
James Mangold takes over the reins of the reins from Steven Spielberg, who still serves as producer and is heavily involved in various elements of the film. Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel will join Spielberg as producers. John Williams, who has worked on every score in the 40-year-old franchise, including the iconic theme, will also return as a composer.

The hope is to start production this summer, with Mangold meeting other talent for other roles in preparation for production. The details of the plot are still vague about what new adventure awaits Jones, as well as the details about who Mikkelsen will play. The film will arrive on July 29, 2022.

The film is another big franchise that Mikkelsen is stepping into after appearing in the “Fantastic Beasts” movies; he replaces Johnny Depp as Grindelwald after Depp parted ways earlier this year after his recent legal problems.
Mikkelsen is also seeing some of the best reviews of his career in the Danish film “Another Round”, which has garnered a handful of Oscar nominations, including Best International Film and Best Director. At the BAFTAs, where Mikkelsen was nominated for best actor, the film did not take home the award for best film in the English language. The next for him is the ‘Riders of Justice’.
