(CNN Español) – The National Coordinator for the Guatemala Disaster Reduction (Conred) has informed the authorities in a statement that an increase in the activity of the volcano Pacaya was recorded in the country, where it “generated explosions between moderators and forces”.
“This activity is considered within the rank of the permanent activity of the colossus; without embarrassment, no suspicious activity has been reported that could generate lava flows in the fishery that has been monitored since October 20 on the upper flank of the volcano, ”said Conred in a statement.
The agency has a lament for the people living or in transit near Volcano Pacaya to be on the lookout for any information on the activity of the colossus and to hold an evacuation plan, in case of need.
