Inauguration Increases Sales for Justin Timberlake / Ant Clemons Duet

The top seller on January 20 of the two shows was Clemons and Timberlake’s “Better Days”, which sold 13,000 downloads that day – a gain of 15,351% compared to the negligible amount it sold on January 19. The song was released in December, but does not yet have a chart on a Billboard voice. This is likely to change next week, once the new charts (dated January 30, which ends the sales and flow data for the week on January 21) are compiled and announced.

The second biggest seller of the two shows was McGraw and Hubbard’s “Undivided”, which moved 8,500 copies on January 20 (2,272% higher than a little less than 500 sales on January 19). The tune debuts on a number Billboard tickets (dated January 23), including Country Airplay at number 19.

Black Pumas had the third biggest seller song of the day as ‘Colors’ sold 4,000 – a rise of 11,415% compared to an insignificant figure on 19 January. The song is named the record of the year at the upcoming Grammy Awards and hits No. 1 Billboard‘s alternative Airplay card for adults a year ago (graph dated 15 February 2020).

Other notable sellers of the two shows include: “Times Like These” by Foo Fighters (3,000; with 8,716%), Withers’ “Lovely Day” (2,500; with 1,897%), “You Get What You Give” by New Radicals (1,500); 262% higher, Katy Perry’s “Firework” (1,000; 2,292%), and Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito,” with Justin Bieber (1,000; 1,894%). (The latter was sung in part by Fonsi, without Daddy Yankee and Bieber, during DJ Cassidy’s Pass the Mic segment on the Four America special.)

‘You Get What You Give’ had already started selling in the days before the show, selling almost 1,000 on January 18 and January 19, thanks to the buzz generated by the news about the reunion of the law specifically for the inauguration . On a normal day, the song sells a negligible number. The track was released in 1998 and reached number 36 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent six weeks at number 1 on the Adult Alternative Airplay chart in 1999.

News about the significant stream gains for the songs being performed will be reported in the coming days.
