La Chamber of Representatives escogió esta tarde ‘n Rafael “Tatito” Hernández como presidente. The new cameral leader counts with the vote of the majority of the Popular Democratic Party (PPD) and the caucus of the New Progressive Party (PNP), in addition to the new legislator on the Dignity Project.
The legislator by the Puerto Rican Independent Party (PIP) in the representatives of the Victoria Ciudadana Movement (MVC) abstained.
The final vote was made by 46 ‘n guns, no one against and three abstentions.

On November 26, the PPD held 26 legislators in the Chamber, followed by 21 of the New Progressive Party (PNP), two of the Victoria Ciudadana Movement, one of the Puerto Rican Independent Party (PIP) and one of the Dignity Project.
More recently, the Senate elected its new leader to include Senator José Luis Dalmau as President and Ponce District Attorney Mariyelli González as Vice President.
Dalmau is running for president of the Senate with the 12 votes of the PPD mayor, as well as the response of the senator of the Dignity Project, Joanne Rodríguez Veve and Independent Senator José Vargas Vidot
During the inaugural session of the Chamber, the announcement was made by PPD spokesman Javier Aponte Dalmau. The altercation portavocía on the figure of Gretchen Hau. For the PNP, these positions will be occupied by Senate President Thomas Rivera Schatz; and Senator Carmelo Ríos, respectively.
