According to AJ Perez of FrontOfficeSports.com, court documents filed in India over Daniel Snyder’s ongoing defamation, Bezos, to the outside firm trying to find buyers for the minority stake in the team owned by Dwight Schar, Fred Smith and Robert Rothman. .
However, it is important to remember that this does not mean that Bezos can buy the team. Instead, he would buy at most a limited stake that has no real power over the team.
The bigger question, which is not addressed by Perez, is whether Bezos would buy the majority stake in the team. Before Bezos could do that, Snyder would have to be willing to sell the majority stake in the team. He is not, at least not currently.
The game card becomes the pending investigation regarding different types of alleged or actual offenses in which the franchise and / or Snyder are involved. If Snyder is put under pressure to sell at a certain time, and if he exerts the pressure, Bezos can move in. It is a separate question whether he buys part of the team from Schar, Smith and / or Rothman.
