Impulsa Unison psycho-educational program to support the well-being of adult adults and children

Hermosillo, Sonora, January 11, 2020. – The University of Sonora has at its disposal the Community Psycho-Educational Program to promote family well-being. A resource of support for family leaders -adultos majors and nieces- led by Miriam Teresa Domínguez Guedea, Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology and Science of Communication.

This program can be run free of charge by women with an interest in the topic and especially for people who care for their mayors, nannies and / or adolescents.

“This action consists of a series of animated videos on a Youtube channel that offer psychological guidance for the management of the property of another person”, he said.

Indicates that among the contents are found bases to understand the crisis in human experience, foundations and strategies to promote the benefit and psychological resources, potentiate oriented communication to the appreciative compensation of emotional needs,.

Inform that the complementary contents of the Program contain routine exercise and procedures to promote physical fitness and well-being in major adults and caregivers, as well as dietary recommendations for all families. The Academic of the Postgraduate Council of Health has stated that the project was supported by the National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt), in its Convocatoria for Universal Access Projects to the Emergency Covid-19.

Program Importance

Domínguez Guedea commented that at the global level it is increasing the number of major adults that require Cididian citizens, and that in Latin American countries this process is presented in a preoccupying manner, given the social difficulties and the salvation that live important part of the population.

In this circumstance, it was added to the current sanitary crisis by covid-19, in which the people with 60 years and more figure within the groups with mayor vulnerability in terms of morbidity.

“The day-to-day care tends to generate important economic, physical, and emotional demands, both of which are absorbed only by one of the family members, in its female mayor, median edad, with additional work days for employment, demands family members; for example, minorities of edad ”, said the academic.

Planting that in Latin contexts a series of sociocultural premises that normalize this overload of tariffs as a responsibility that competes with each other, and that consequently the mechanisms of social and institutional support are escalated.

“Therefore, it is not surprising that the people involved are stressed over the amount and variety of demands that will be made on this day,” he said. For this reason, the Psycho-Educational Program offers a resource that can potentiate the abilities of caregivers to address the challenges that emergency care imposes, even more so in these times of pandemic.
