Jenna Ryan, a Texas realtor who took a private plane to Washington to join the attack on the U.S. Capitol, pleaded with Donald Trump to forgive her after she was arrested by federal authorities.
After Ryan surrendered to the FBI on Friday, he said, “We all deserve a pardon.”
“I’m being jailed,” she told CBS11 at her home. “I think I do not deserve it.”
Looking at the camera, she says, “I will ask the President of the United States to forgive me.”
Trump was charged Wednesday with inciting the January 6 attack in which five people were killed, including a police officer, and sent lawmakers to flee for their lives.
Ryan said she “showed my patriotism” and added: “I listen to my president who told me to go to the Capitol.”
Ryan left a lot of information online. Court documents show she posted a photo of a private jet to Washington DC the day before the riot, then posed on the steps of the Capitol and smashed next to a window when the pro-Trump mob broke in.
“We’re going to storm the Capitol,” Ryan said in a video posted on Facebook. “They are down there now and that’s why we came and that’s what we’re going to do. So congratulate me. ”
Ryan said during a live Facebook video at the scene of the raid: ‘We’re gonna go fucking in here. Life or death, it does not matter. Here we go. “
She climbs the steps of the Capitol and promotes her real estate to camera: ‘You all know how to hire your realtor. Jenna Ryan for your broker. ”
Ryan later posted on Twitter: “We just stormed into the capital [sic]. It was one of the best days of my life. ”
Trump has largely used the presidential forgiveness power to favor political allies. Ryan is the youngest person to apologize for the Capitol attack.
A lawyer for Jacob Chansley, a man in Arizona who wore horns, animal skin and face paint while wearing a spear and entered the Senate Hall, said Trump should do the “honorable thing and that of his peaceful followers who has accepted the President’s invitation “forgive.
Albert Watkins said his client has no criminal record and that he was an “active practitioner of yoga”. He also mentions the Chansley diet, which caused him to reject inorganic meals in federal custody.
Chansley is facing six federal charges. On Friday, a judge ordered that he be detained without bail.
