Illinois COVID update today: IL reports 3,536 new cases of coronavirus, 31 deaths

CHICAGO (WLS) – Illinois public health officials on Wednesday reported 3,536 newly confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 31 related deaths.

There were 1,288,934 total COVID cases, including 21,570 deaths in the state since the pandemic began.

Illinois, Indiana to suspend use of Johnson & Johnson vaccine after reports of blood clots

As of Tuesday night, it was reported that 2,076 patients in Illinois were in the hospital with COVID-19. Of these, 453 patients were in the ICU and 198 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.

Within the past 24 hours, laboratories reported testing 88,390 samples for a total of 21,371,760 since the pandemic began.

The preliminary positive seven-day test positivity from April 7 to 13 is 5%.

A total of 9,386,135 doses of vaccine were delivered to suppliers in Illinois, including Chicago.
A total of 7,482,650 vaccines have been administered in Illinois since Tuesday night. The seven-day running average of vaccines administered daily is 132,810 doses. 138,538 doses were administered in Illinois on Tuesday.

The deaths reported on Wednesday include:

-Carroll County: 1 70-year-old man
-Cook County: 1 female 20s, 1 female 30s, 1 female 50s, 3 men 60s, 1 female 70s, 4 men 70s, 2 women 80s, 3 men 80s
-DuPage County: 1 60-year-old woman, 1 90-year-old woman
-Kane County: 1 30-year-old man
-Lake County: 1 60-year-old man, 1 80-year-old man
-Madison County: 1 70-year-old man

-McHenry County: 1 female 90s
-Peoria County: 1 female 40s
-Richland County: 1 woman 60s
-Tazewell County: 1 80-year-old man
-Vermilion County: 1 30s female, 1 70s female
-Whiteside County: 1 30-year-old woman
-Will County: 1 80-year-old man
