CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Despite warnings by Corpus Christi City Manager Peter Zanoni and the Corpus Christi Police Department about fighting illegal fireworks, it was still a sleepless night for many Corpus Christi residents.
One Austin resident who visited the family in the Molina area recorded a massive fireworks display from the front porch of her mother’s home.
Hundreds of illegal fireworks can be seen going off in the short video clip that Maria de la Luz Martinez recorded with her cellphone in the 4300 block of Barrera Drive.
She tells KRIS 6 News that it has become a tradition every year to watch the illegal fireworks display on New Year’s Eve.
And many other residents of Molina watched the illegal exhibition of their neighbors last night.
