IHOP makes a hissing side dish the main course.
Bacon gets its own menu at the pancake house with a thick, cut-out steakhouse style of breakfast toupee tossed in maple glaze, IHOP announced Tuesday.
The “Bacon Obsession” menu contains bacon that describes the chain as “five times thicker” than regular bacon. And while the breakfast can only be ordered, it also includes new menu items such as the Steakhouse Premium Bacon Burger and a Maple Bacon Milkshake.

Breakfast is served all day until 13 June. IHOP’s menu also includes candied bacon pancakes stuffed with hickory-smoked bacon pieces; A steakhouse BLT; Bacon Lovers Combo, these are two candied bacon pancakes with plates of the thickly sliced breakfast meat; and the Oreo A Bacon Waffle Sundae among others.
“As guests begin to return to restaurants, we know they are looking for a very attractive and familiar comfort food, as well as new ways to enjoy classic favorites, and bacon is the perfect option that caters to both needs,” said Jay Johns , president of IHOP, said in a statement.
IHOP has teased the release of its ‘premium’ thick-cut bacon on social media, and some food critics have addressed the hype.

“I would argue that bigger bacon is the same as bacon and not bigger than bacon,” one user commented on Twitter at the “bigger bacon” chain ad.
Another added, “The only thing better than bacon is maybe a tasty steak.”
