Apple released watchOS 7.3.1 on Monday, which may help fix an issue that prevents some Apple Watch Series 5 or SE smartwatches from charging while in battery-saving Power Reserve mode. But even the software update could not solve the problem, according to Apple. If not, the company will repair your watch for free.
“A very small number of customers with Apple Watch Series 5 or Apple Watch SE models using watchOS 7.2 or 7.3 have experienced a problem that their watch did not charge after entering the Power Reserve,” Apple said in ” a support document. If you still will not charge your Apple Watch after installing the update and after putting it on a charger for at least 30 minutes, ask the company to contact Apple Support to set up a free repair post. The company will need to inspect your watch to ‘verify that it is eligible for free repairs.’
The watchOS 7.3.1 update is now available for download.
