(KWWL) – Hy-Vee will next week offer COVID-19 rapid antibody testing at certain pharmacies.
From Monday 18 January you can find out if you were previously infected with COVID-19 and are currently not experiencing any symptoms.
Everyone who wants to take the test must register in advance with hy-vee.com/covidtesting and select “antibody test.” From there, you can plan a test time and venue and receive a test certificate. Children six years or older can be tested if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Results are expected the same day within 15 minutes after completion of the test. Results will be emailed to the patient the same day.
Antibody tests cost $ 25 and patients can pay at the pharmacy.
An antibody test can show if a patient has been infected with COVID-19 in the past, but it does not indicate if a patient is currently infected. It may take 1-3 weeks after infection before the body makes antibodies.
Hy-Vee also continues to offer fast antigen testing at certain pharmacies and free laboratory tests.
