I know you have to overcome the shock that someone who spent their entire career on the label of ‘idiot’ was arrested for a DUI. It’s a cold world. This is what Johnny Damon did in Florida last month, as well as resisting arrest without violence. Damon’s blood alcohol level was 0.30, four times the legal limit.
The arrest video came out yesterday, and boy, that’s a doozy. Damon and his wife are clearly, completely slaughtered, and Damon’s field tests look more than anything at Kabuki Theater.
You can not help but notice that during the video, both Damon and his wife repeatedly refuse the police instructions, such as getting out of the car when they are ordered not to do so, not back in the car not to climb, not to make contact with the police, and so on. And it just happens.
You have to ask yourself, what would have happened if Damon and his wife had dark skin? I do not have to answer this for you, because you have seen more than enough what happens to black people who do not immediately follow the police’s instructions to the letter. Or even those who do.
Both Damon and his wife get away with physical contact against the police. And if you think a former athlete gets you out of such things, ask it Thabo Sefolosha or Sterling Brown about it. It’s also worth discussing if it’s all no more than a fake $ 20. And yet patience is shown here.
