IDPH provides interim guidance for fully vaccinated individuals, here’s what you need to know

(WREX) – The Illinois Department of Public Health has released interim clues for those who have been fully vaccinated.

Check out the News 3 WSIL local vaccination page.

The guidelines of the state follow according to the CDC, which means that an individual is considered fully vaccinated as:

  • 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
  • 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine

The new guidelines also enable people to:

  • Visit with other people who have been fully vaccinated, without wearing masks or physically giving up.
  • Visit people who have not been vaccinated, from a single household, who are at low risk for severe COVID-19 disease, indoors without wearing masks or physical distance.
  • Refrain from testing due to a known exposure if it is symptomatic, unless it is necessary for routine examinations in a high-density workplace (eg meat processing plants).

CDC has also set up a website for the public, which is available at When You’ve been Fully vaccination.

Vaccinated patients and residents in healthcare settings should continue to remain in quarantine after exposure to someone with a suspected or confirmed COVID-19 and outpatients should be cared for using appropriate precautions for transmission.

People who have been fully vaccinated should continue to monitor for the full 14 days after exposure to symptoms and should seek medical attention if they experience symptoms. All vaccines must continue to:

  • Take precautions in public such as wearing a well-fitting mask and taking physical distance.
  • Wear masks, exercise physical distance and adhere to other preventative measures when visiting non-vaccinated people who are at increased risk for or who have severe COVID-19 disease
  • has a member who has not been vaccinated and is at greater risk for severe COVID-19 disease.
  • Wear masks, maintain physical distance and practice other preventative measures when visiting non-vaccinated from multiple households.
  • Avoid medium-sized and bulk personal gatherings.
  • Get tested if you experience COVID-19 symptoms.
  • Follow the guidelines issued by individual employers.
  • Follow CDC travel requirements and recommendations.
