Rep. Ken Buck, R-Colo., Has messed up the “hatred” of the “America First Caucus” and its policy platform, as reported.
“The hatred of this statement is only surpassed by the ignorance of American history and values,” Buck said. He quoted a tweet from Punchbowl News as reporting that the platform would defend, among other things, the “Anglo-Saxon political traditions”.
“I did not think there would be a need for explanation, but I condemn this newly formed caucus, not the Punchbowl News tweet,” Buck added.
Buck joined House House minority leader Kevin McCarthy, R-California, who issued an apparent reprimand of the caucus and the platform on Friday.
“America is built on the idea that we are all created equal and that success is earned through honest, hard work. It is not built on identity, race or religion,” McCarthy wrote on Twitter. “The Republican Party is Lincoln’s party and the party of more opportunities for all Americans – not the nativist dog whistles.”
Punchbowl News first reported on plans for the America First Caucus on Friday. The group is led by representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., And Paul Gosar, R-Ariz.

Greene said Saturday she did not read the platform that was issued.
“On Friday, sick and evil mail in the media attacked me with phrases I never said or wrote,” Greene said. “They released a draft proposal from staff members that I had not read from an external group. The scum and liars in the media call me a racist by taking something out of context.”
“I have plans to drive President Trump’s America First agenda with my congressional colleagues, but we will not allow the media or anyone else to drive the narrative. America First policy will save this country for all of us, us children and eventually the world, “she continued.

In terms of infrastructure, the group promotes buildings with ‘architectural, engineering and aesthetic value that fit the descendants of European architecture.’ On coronavirus, the group is advocating for the termination of closures and social requirements recommended by health experts.
Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, told reporters he was “looking” at the new caucus.
When asked about references to the “Anglo-Saxon” influence, he said he did not see it.
“It’s not supposed to be about race at all,” Gohmert said.

Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., Tweeted Friday that he will join the caucus.

Gaetz is facing a federal investigation into whether he violated sex trafficking laws and had sex with a 17-year-old girl. He denied the allegations.
