The name of the speaker of Om Birla, Anjali Birla, appears on the merit list for the civil examination (principal).

New Delhi:

A fact-check on social media claims that Anjali Birla, daughter of Om Sabla, of Lok Sabha, approved the country’s leading civilian investigation without first appearing before the highly competitive three-test process, revealed that it was false is.

The news agency AFP scanned the merit list for civil services (main) examination – 2019 and me. Anjali’s name and role number found in it. The list is also available on the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) website.

Social media reports claiming the candidate took advantage of her father’s position, and was selected by ‘backdoor channels’ by ignoring other potentially deserving but less privileged candidates, have been circulating for the past few days.

With the rejection of the rumors, Ms. Birla also shared the experience of talking to another news agency, The Quint, about the false allegations and shared a post on her personal Instagram account.

“The Quint approached me to do a fact check on rumors that had gone viral on the internet, that I had entered the civil services without taking any exams. When I read this viral tweet / report, I laughed … Rumors have always been nice to hear, but I did not come across such unfounded, senseless criticism, ‘she said.

Anjali Birla further explained the process of cracking the UPSC exam for uninitiated.

“UPSC’s Civil Services Exam is conducted in three phases of a year and you can ONLY become a civil servant if you pass all three. The UPSC CSE is an extremely fair and transparent process, there is no refund. Respect the institution at least, ‘she wrote.

She also expressed her dismay because she had to provide documents to show that she had ‘cleaned all three phases’.

“I missed (my) name on the first list with only 8 points in the general category … It is wrong to discredit someone’s blood and sweat just because of the prevailing stereotypes,” she added.

Thanks to ‘people who came to support, who gave facts and made a logical reasoning to refute these unfounded claims’, Ms. Birla hoped that ‘sense grows’ and wanted society to ‘remove harshness and insanity from the internet’.
