I tried delta-8 THC: this is how it feels

Delta-8 THC is currently one of the most popular topics in cannabis. It is a small cannabinoid that you can increase like traditional THC, but even less. It occurs in small amounts in the cannabis plant and is often converted from other compounds such as CBD. If you have not heard of it, you will surely do it fast enough.

Reason # 1 that interest in delta-8 is increasing is its existence in a legal gray area: Delta-8 can be made from hemp and thanks to the 2018 farm bill, cannabis with less than 0.3% THC is considered considered hemp, and anything naturally derived from hemp is federally legal.

This means that if you convert CBD from hemp to delta-8, you have a federally legal cannabis product that makes people get high, albeit less than traditional THC. Some states have begun to regulate delta-8, others have not. Read more about what delta-8 and its legality are in this article.

Reason # 2 people are so curious about delta-8 because it’s supposed to be a much less intense, much more accessible experience than the climax you feel when you consume traditional marijuana with THC.

So it hits you high? We are testing delta-8 for the people.

Is delta-8 less intense than THC?

To test delta-8 THC, I slipped to a pharmacy in Portland, Oregon to grab the 250 mg pack (ten 25 mg servings) of Smokiez Sour Blue Raspberry Gummiez. I chose Smokiez because their traditional gummies are some of my favorites, which gives me an excellent comparative reference. When trying out new products, it is also important to find reputable brands that you can trust to put the stuff out on a consistent basis.

With the expectation that delta-8 has less intense effects than the traditional THC, I decided to try it in separate doses of 50mg and 100mg respectively, or two and four gums. Activation time on the package says 45 minutes.

I took each dose on an empty stomach for the fastest possible time and then allowed a period of four hours as food was expected to peak within 3-4 hours. I did not consume any other marijuana on that day, so I started in a completely sober state.

Here is my experience.

COMMENT: The following experience is a single human experiment, not a true scientific experiment. Experience with cannabis, the frequency of use and your body chemistry all come into play when deciding how high you will become. Consumption results may vary.

50mg dose

I ate the first dose at 10:30, and after about 30 minutes I started buzzing the familiar head and body letting me know there were weeds in my system. Or excuse me, hemp.

The first thing you need to know before discussing the delta-8 experience is my tolerance. I chain smoke compounds all day, every day, with scabs thrown into the mixture here and there. It will take a lot of weeds to relieve me at this rate.

With traditional eating habits, however, it is the opposite. They always stalk me because I forgot I ate it and then BAM – that’s Couchlock City, USA. That’s why I usually stay away from them.

That said, normally a dose of eating habits of 50 mg would absolutely put me to sleep within a few hours, but the delta-8 gummies provided a stimulating, energetic experience by waking up a good morning mixed with a delicious cup of coffee.

Why are gums the most popular weed edible?

It was almost like smoking a crop of CBD-dominant flower, where you are alert, clear-headed and ready for any obstacles that the day may throw at you. Within less than an hour of eating the gummies, I was locked into Google Docs to put out the writing.

Truly, I expected that I would feel absolutely nothing if I ate the two gummies. I was ready to hate. But through the Smokiez Delta 8 gummies experience, I turned music on, danced in my Airbnb, and erased sentences that had been suffocating the writers’ block for over a month.

Sometimes my head can get pretty foggy because of the weight of the world’s news and personal anxiety around them. This leads me to a state where it is difficult to even approach daily life, let alone daily work. Cannabis is one of my remedies for this, and delta-8 has had the same benefits as I get by smoking a joint and telling myself that everything is going to be okay. All without the sleepy comedown.

It was honestly a very pleasant surprise. Something tells me delta-8 might actually be as advertised. It is perhaps the weaker version of THC that makes cannabis more accessible to people with lower tolerance.

By 12:00 the delta-8 peak began to decline, and by 14:00 the only long-term effects of the high drought and dehydration were.

All in all, I would describe the highlight in one word, I would say: energetic.

I have never once felt a rough comedy. I have never once felt my body succumb to the THC. Instead, I felt productive, motivated, and happy. It was the same type of high that I get from consuming types like Apple Fritter, Super Silver Haze and Chocolope.

This is in contrast to traditional eating habits, where it’s only a matter of time before I’m horizontally on the couch with the Roku remote in hand to waste hours of life watching Joe Budden Podcast episodes on YouTube. With delta-8, I jumped on some of the bad guys and locked them in Google Docs for four hours straight. Ernest Hemingway could never do that.

So yes, based on personal experience alone, I would say that delta-8 gums do make you get high, and that the high is less intense than smoking joints of traditional flower or eating traditional foods.

100mg dose

I ate the dose of 100 mg delta-8 gummies at 4pm. If I really like it, the experience felt exactly the same as the 50 mg dose. I was not taller or anything, it was just back to a quick head and body that never once washed down in a sleepy comedy, even though I moved on until the evening.

I was disappointed about it – I thought boys were about to leave for the moon. Eventually it showed me that I could probably pop delta-8 gummies all day without feeling like I needed a 48-hour nap around the oh-my-god-me-so-high-spider webs I get , to tidy up. of traditional THC.

Does delta-8 THC increase you?

Yes, delta-8 definitely gets you high, but it was a lighter highlight than I was used to by smoking joints, taking hinges, and eating regular snacks.

These gums were definitely less intense than the usual Smokiez fruit chew, and in the end, this homemade experiment made me feel that delta-8 might be ideal for people who want an energetic cannabis experience but don’t want to smoke joints. not. or take scraps for it.

Or if you just get too high on joints and scratches and you use cannabis and its many benefits, delta-8 may be the exercise wheels you have always needed.

People expect most of the time that the food will hit hard and that you are sitting in a slump mode at the couch. Maybe delta-8 is the solution to avoid it.

Or maybe it will be banned before we get a chance to see.
